Homeland villain Navid Negahban has signed on to star opposite Clive Owen and Juliette Binoche in the Fred Schepisi-helmed indie Words and Pictures.
Negahban is best known for his role as elusive terrorist Abu Nazir on the hit Showtime series. In Words and Pictures, he will play the headmaster at a New England prep school where a charismatic English teacher (Owen) and a guarded art teacher (Binoche) form an unlikely bond, one later complicated by romance. Gerald Di Pago wrote the screenplay.
Shooting begins in mid-March in Vancouver.
The film is being produced by Curtis Burch for his Latitude Prods. in association with Dallas-based Lascaux Films. Voltage Pictures is handling international sales.
Negahban is repped by House of Representatives and Michael Mann Management.
