After Marilyn Manson displayed “bizarre” behavior onstage during a concert in New York on Thursday, actress Charlyne Yi took to Twitter to state that the incident wasn’t the first time the rocker has acted out.
On Friday, Yi, who appeared as a series regular on Fox’s medical drama House, said that Manson visited the cast while they were filming the final season as a fan and “harassed just about every woman asking us if we were going to scissor, rhino & called me a China man.”
After expressing her hope that the rocker “gets help,” Yi said seeing news of Thursday’s performance was “triggering.” She added, “And then when you talk about the incidents you become known as the person tied to the harasser. And that’s just your name from now on. It almost overrides who you are.”
Yi made headlines in October after publicly accusing actress Amber Tamblyn’s husband, David Cross, of making racist comments years ago.
Fan-shot videos from Manson’s concert on Thursday showed the 49-year-old delivering a half-mumbled, half-sung monologue, while his band played an extended blues jam. After acting strangely on stage for more than an hour, the rocker reportedly ended the show, sparking anger among fans. By the end of the show, local paper Newsday reported that the crowd was chanting, “Refund! Refund!”
Manson’s latest performance joins a slew of controversial moments the rocker has endured in recent months. Manson fired former bassist Twiggy Ramirez in October, after Ramirez faced allegations of sexual assault. And in November, Manson sparked controversy after aiming a fake rifle at his San Bernardino audience.

Ugh don’t even get me started on Marilyn Manson. Yes this happened a long time ago – on the last season of House he came on set to visit because he was a huge fan of the show & he harassed just about every woman asking us if we were going to scissor, rhino & called me a China man

It’s so triggering to see people come up on the internet who have harassed you. And then when you talk about the incidents you become known as the person tied to the harasser. And that’s just your name from now on. It almost overrides who you are.
