Hulu is getting in on the television reboot craze.
The streamer is developing a Foxy Brown TV series based on the 1974 cult classic film. Minority Report alum Meagan Good is signed on to star in the adaptation, which hails from studio MGM Television.
Good will also executive produce alongside her husband, Franklin Entertainment’s DeVon Franklin, Flame Ventures’ Tony Krantz, Untitled Entertainment’s Jason Weinberg and Evan Hainey, Malcolm Spellman (Empire) and Ben Watkins (Hand of God). The latter two will pen the script and take on the role of co-showrunners, as well. Drew Comins will serve as a co-executive producer.
The original movie, which was written and directed by Jack Hill, centered on a woman played by Pam Grier who sought revenge for her boyfriend’s murder. Foxy Brown was distributed by American International Pictures, whose library is owned by Orion Pictures Corporation, a subsidiary of MGM.
Good is repped by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment and Gregg Gellman. Krantz, Franklin, Spellman and Watkins are repped by CAA, with Franklin also repped by Hansen Jacobsen and Krantz, by Echo Lake. Spellman is managed by Industry Entertainment.
