Hulu’s Locke and Key take is adding another member of the It family to its ranks.
Megan Charpentier has joined the cast of Hulu’s Carlton Cuse take on Joe Hill’s beloved IDW comic, reuniting with It co-star Jackson Robert and director Andy Muschietti who is helming the pilot.
Locke and Key is a horror/fantasy series that revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house has magical keys that give them an array of powers. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Charpentier will play Kinsey Locke, the transformational daughter of Rendell and Nina Locke. The young actress, who plays Gretta in Stpehen King’s It — out this week — joins a cast that includes Frances O’Connor as Nina. Robert plays her young brother, Bode Locke. Charpentier’s credits also include The Shack. She’s repped by MGMT Entertainment and RED Management.
Comic book creator Hill and Cuse (Lost, Bates Motel, The Strain) are collaborating on the script for the hourlong pilot. Cuse will executive produce alongside Muschietti, Barbara Muschietti and Lindsey Springer, who serves as head of Cuse’s production company. Cuse will serve as showrunner. IDW Entertainment president David Ozer and Hill also executive produce.
