Ramona RosalesCommunity‘s future may be in limbo, but creator and showrunner Dan Harmon is keeping busy.
IFC has ordered three comedy pilots including one hosted and exec produced by Harmon, the network announced Wednesday.
Great Minds is a comedic panel show that covers trending topics with a twist: each episode features a revolving group of comedians playing history’s “greatest minds.” The pilot guest panel features Benjamin Franklin (Rory Albanese, The Daily Show With Jon Stewart), Albert Einstein (SNL‘s Robert Smigel), Eleanor Roosevelt (Bonnie McFarlane, Women Aren’t Funny) and Frederick Douglass (Mulaney alum Seaton Smith).
From creator Richard Korson (The Daily Show With Jon Stewart), the series is exec produced by Korson, Harmon, Jay Peterson and Kara Welker. Matador will produce. Historical figures have been hot thanks to Comedy Central’s Drunk History, which Harmon will narrate an episode of this coming season.

In addition to Community, which made news yesterday because of star Joel McHale‘s comments — and subsequent backpedaling – that it would not return for a seventh season, Harmon also exec produces the Adult Swim animated hit Rick and Morty.
IFC is also shooting an untitled half-hour, late-night talk show pilot hosted by comedian Jim Norton (Louie). He will share lively banter and unfiltered viewpoints with the top entertainers from comedy, TV, movies, music, film and culture. Norton and Suzanne Fagel (Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell) will executive produce the series, which is produced by Matador.
IFC’s third comedy pilot, 1320 Seconds, hails from Sara Schaefer (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon). The project is a satirical news-magazine show featuring an ensemble of female correspondents (plus one man to mix it up) who investigate and offer commentary on the cultural zeitgeist. Schaefer will exec produce with Jon Zimelis, Jason Nadler and Alex Blagg of Serious Business.
IFC’s current original programming slate includes a growing number of unscripted and partially scripted series such as The Grid and Comedy Bang! Bang!
