Through the deal, VEQTA will stream over 20 live MLB games each week during the regular season, along with full coverage of the league’s major events, including the All-Star Game, Wild Card Games, Division Series, League Championship Series and the World Series.
The partners said they will also launch a variety of initiatives to grow the Indian audience for Major League Baseball, including promotional activities and events, along with digital fan activation and engagement.
Financial details and the duration of the agreement were not disclosed.
Co-founded by Vikram Tanwar and Varun Mathur in Delhi in April 2015, VEQTA raised $500,000 in seed capital in May 2016. The company says it has inked other content partnerships with local and international sports bodies in tennis, fight sports, motorsports, soccer, basketball, rugby and others. It plans to broadcast over 6,000 hours of live sports content this year.
