The fall finale of This Is Us rebounded from last week’s series low in Tuesday’s ratings, and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer is still a draw in its 54th year.
This Is Us helped NBC to an across-the-board victory for the night. The show drew a 2.0 rating among adults 18-49, up from 1.8 a week ago, and had a five-episode high in viewers with 8.91 million. The Voice ticked up to 1.5 in the demo and had its biggest total audience (9.45 million) Tuesday since premiere week. New Amsterdam was steady in adults 18-49 at 1.1 and also improved in viewers with 6.29 million.
Rudolph delivered 8.14 million viewers for CBS, up a little bit from 8.07 million in 2017. Its 1.7 demo rating was the second-best of the night, although down a bit from 1.9 last year. Reruns of NCIS and FBI followed.
ABC’s Black-ish (0.9), Splitting Up Together (0.7) and The Rookie (0.8) all improved slightly week to week in the 18-49 demo. The Conners (1.4) and The Kids Are Alright (0.9) both held steady in the demo and each hit four-week highs in total viewers.
The Gifted (0.6) and Lethal Weapon (0.7) were both about average for Fox. The Flash (0.6) and Black Lightning (0.3) remained steady on The CW.
NBC’s 1.6 rating in adults 18-49 comfortably led the primetime rankings. CBS (1.0) narrowly beat ABC (0.9) for second place. Fox averaged 0.7 and The CW 0.5.
