James Corden’s stint as host of the 2018 Grammy Awards was aided by the hilarious antics of his adorable parents. Malcolm and Margaret Corden took over backstage and interacted with just about everyone, from DJ Khaled to U2 in a skit that aired during Thursday night’s (Feb. 1) Late Late Show.
Apart from their roaring skits during the live show from Madison Square Garden on Sunday night (Jan. 28), where they skipped out halfway through their son’s big gig to go see Hamilton on Broadway, the couple had much more in store for viewers in the extended bit.
Kicking things off, the pair hit the Grammys gift shop, perusing a lavish selection of eyewear. They tried out a few interesting gadgets as well, like an LED-powered diet belt and an eye massager, all while pops Corden enjoyed long pulls from a bottle of infused moonshine.

The Corden fam then took it upon themselves to bring their own English snacks to affair, mentioning how terrible last years’ Grammy snacks were. They enlisted the help of Maren Morris to pig out on British licorice, before Malcolm attempted to stuff his mouth with as many pieces as possible.
Among other things, the Cordens serenaded U2’s Bono & The Edge, shared laughs with DJ Khaled, hit the red carpet to beatbox with Cardi B, harmonized with Little Big Town and hit a mean two-step with Daddy Yankee.
But the highlight of the short clip has to be when Malcolm Corden kept his cool while John Legend flirted with his wife during a red carpet interview. As Legend spoke with Mrs. Corden, staring deeply into her eyes, the singer’s wife Chrissy Teigen looked over to Mr. Corden and said “I think he’s hitting on your wife,” to which Legend playfully remarked, “Don’t we look good together?”
