Vice Media has promoted James Rosenstock to the role of president of Viceland International, where he will oversee the global TV networks while continuing to execute new strategic international partnerships to bring Vice content to new territories.
Rosenstock joined Vice in 2015 as executive vp, international and chief corporate development officer. He will remain the head of corporate development in addition to his new responsibilities.
Rosenstock will lead a team to manage Viceland’s growth around the world, working closely with in-country Vice offices on everything from sales and revenue to licensing, local production, distribution and marketing.
Rosenstock will also oversee Viceland’s relationships with existing distributors and partners in local territories while pursuing new opportunities.
Since joining Vice, Rosenstock has led strategic partnerships that have expanded the company’s offerings around the world.
“In his short time at Vice, he has already been a key architect in building a multi-screen network that spans the globe and will deliver Vice’s award-winning content to over 50 new territories in 2017, across digital, mobile and TV,” said Vice co-president James Schwab.
“Vice has built itself into the world’s leading youth media brand by disseminating our content across the world on any screen our audience is using. And Viceland has the same approach,” said Rosenstock. “Viceland International will work parallel to our mobile and digital businesses to ensure continued growth, and I look forward to traveling the world to coordinate our global operations and to further expand Viceland’s reach into even more territories across digital, mobile and TV.”
Rosenstock was previously executive vp of corporate development at Discovery Communications and before that worked at Sony Corp. He began his career as an investment banker in the media and entertainment industry.
