Secret recordings made allegedly of former Subway pitchman Jared Fogle reveal dark sexual fantasies that involved children.
Portions of the tapes made by former Florida journalist Rochelle Herman-Walrond were played Thursday on the first part of a two-part series of Dr. Phil. More of the recordings will be played Friday.
“Do you want to watch me f— a young girl, too?” the voice allegedly of Fogle asks. “Will you f— a young boy?” When Herman-Walrond asks if that would turn the person believed to be Fogle on, he responds with a whispered “yeah.”
After befriending Herman-Walrond, Fogle — who is expected to formally plead guilty to assorted child pornography charges — allegedly shared his stories about sexually assaulting children and other sexual fantasies involving children.
Herman-Walrond turned the tapes over to the FBI.
When asked by show host Phil McGraw how she was able to stomach the disturbing conversations with Fogle, Herman-Walrond responded: “I’m removing myself from who I am and embracing an imaginary person. I had to be two separate people in order to continue on with this investigation.”
The man believed to be Fogle was taped saying he was prepared to fly Herman-Walrond and another person by the name of Kathy to Thailand in order to fulfill his fantasies with children.
“I would fly all three of us clear across the world if we need to,” the man says on the tape. “It would just make things a lot easier — if we’re going to try and get some young kids with us. It would be a lot easier probably.”
The man on the recordings also instructed Rochelle Herman-Walrond how to gain a child’s trust so the youth could be manipulated.
“Well, if we get them segregated out … you know, start talking or whatever … and we get a little closer, and a little closer and a little closer and before you know it … it just starts to happen,” the man’s voice says. “But I think that girl from the broken home could be a possibility, you know.”
