One of the stars of canceled ABC comedy Better With You has landed her next starring role.
Jennifer Finnigan has landed the female lead opposite Ben Lawson in the USA Network pilot Wild Card, lifting the contingency, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
In the Fox TV project Wild Card, Finnigan will portray Eliza Evans, a lawyer who solves people’s problems in Las Vegas before morning. Lawson plays the other half of the team, Will Garratt. Twilight and House actor Edi Gathegi is also with the project.
Stephen Godchaux (Dead Like Me) penned the pilot script and will serve as an executive producer with Cary Brokaw (Angels in America).
USA pilots awaiting series pickups include Common Law, with Michael Ealy (The Good Wife), and Eden, with Nicholas D’Agosto (Final Destination 5) and Enver Gjokaj (Dollhouse).
Finnigan last starred in the half-hour, multi-cam comedy Better With You, which was canceled after one season.
