Contestant Becky Sullivan gave an entertaining response during her round of final Jeopardy on Friday.
The prompt was “The flower pictured here is called this, also a disparaging term for people on the political left.”
Sullivan wrote, “What is a pansy?” as her question. She lost all of her money and the other contestant, Sean Anderson won with the correct response, which was “What is a bleeding heart?”
“You found a way to insult liberals in this country,” host Alex Trebek told Sullivan, as the audience laughed at her response.
File this under “Unexpected Responses.”

Sullivan is an NPR producer and tweeted about her experience, providing an explanation for why she said “pansy.”
OK here’s the deal with pansy: I actually didn’t know bleeding heart was a flower. I just put the only flower I knew that was also an insult

Best part of this experience was the guy on Twitter who said I was a Real Life 5.5 but a Jeopardy 9.
