‘Jersey Shore’ Alum Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi Details COVID-19 Symptoms on “Different” Valentine’s Day

Jersey Shore alum Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is the latest star to reveal that they’ve tested positive for COVID-19.

Polizzi posted on Instagram on Sunday that she has the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, making for a Valentine’s Day that’s “a bit different.”

She detailed that she initially experienced what felt like “a bad sinus cold,” including a “headache, Stuffy nose & mild cough.”

She added, “Then I felt super tired and ended up napping all day which made me go get tested. Today i just feel groggy. I ended up losing my taste and smell last night. It’s fricken weird. I had a greasy cheese pizza & couldn’t taste a damn thing. WHAT A SIN.”

Polizzi, who shares three kids with husband Jionni LaValle, said the rest of her family tested negative, and she’s isolating from them in her bedroom.

On her Instagram story, she elaborated that when it felt like a “bad sinus infection, … My ears hurt, my head felt heavy, I was coughing — it was a scratchy cough — my nose was stuffy.”

“I feel like I ran a marathon,” she added, after revealing her extreme exhaustion and continuing to “feel crappy” prompted her to get tested, and said she feels like the “worst,” “annoying” symptom is “not being able to taste.”

Nevertheless, her loved ones still showered her with Valentine’s Day gifts — from a distance.

“I woke up to roses and chocolates thrown on my floor from my family,” she captioned a picture of both on the floor as she also posed in a mask while holding a bouquet of roses. “Still showing my quarantine ass Love on Valentine’s Day!”

In closing, she wrote, “Appreciate all of your concerns, but I am ok! Please stay safe everyone!”

While the Jersey Shore phenomenon has continued with MTV’s Family Vacation spinoff, Polizzi revealed in December 2019 that she would be retiring from the franchise that made her a star.

“I just can’t do it anymore,” she said on her It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey podcast. “Literally, leaving my kids to film it is really, really hard on me. I try and quit every single day … I just hate being away from the kids. I don’t like partying like three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. I want to be home with the kids.”

She added that Family Vacation‘s “dramatic” turn and “cattiness” made her feel like participating was no longer worth it.
