‘Jersey Shore’ Cast’s Unforgettable Brushes With the Law

Being a cast member on MTV’s Jersey Shore lends itself to controversy. In addition to broadcasting their every move, the crew’s various missteps have been documented for the world to see. And yes, they include more than just smooshing.

Several cast members have had run-ins with the law over the course of four seasons (one of which has yet to be aired), but possibly getting into the most trouble is none other than Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

As a victim of assault, Snooki became involved with police when she wound up with an angry fist in her face at a Seaside, New Jersey bar. The pint-size reality star was on the receiving end of a nasty sucker punch that landed New York City school teacher Brad Ferro in jail. Ferro was slapped with an assault and disorderly conduct charge.

Snooki’s next interaction with Seaside police officers came during Season 3, when she fell victim to her own blood alcohol level. Polizzi was cited with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct and criminal annoyance of others after enjoying a few too many cocktails and falling down at the beach. She wound up with a $500 fine and community service, as well as the shame of being characterized as “a Lindsay Lohan wannabe” by Judge Damian G. Murray. Ouch.

While filming Season 4 in Italy, Snooki was reportedly taken into custody after crashing her vehicle into a parked police car. All’s well that ends well, as the two officers only sustained minor injuries and Snooki walked away scot free. Except, of course, for losing her international license.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro is still being haunted by one fateful night at the shore, when he became engaged in a drunken altercation with another male in September 2009. Ortiz-Magro was indicted for his Season 1 punch in early 2011 and will reportedly enter a pretrial intervention program to avoid criminal conviction. While the case is ongoing, Ortiz-Magro pleaded not guilty to assault.

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino has steered clear of law enforcement during filming, but still suffers legal troubles off-screen. Aside from rumors of a drug riddled past, Sorrentino currently faces a lawsuit from his former managers to the tune of $1 million. Reportedly, Sitch breached his contract after giving his team the axe, citing a lack of performance, without giving 30-days notice.

Situation has also battled his estranged father in court for illegally using his name and likeness, after the elder Sorrentino launched a defamatory website titled “The Confrontation.”

Paul “Pauly D” Delvecchio is dealing with his fair share of troubles, as the DJ was hit with a $4 million lawsuit by another mix master — DJ Paulie of Connecticut. Though they use a different spelling for their monickers, DJ Paulie is suing for copyright infringement after trademarking his stage name long before Jersey Shore became a hit. MTV reportedly has until late September to make a response to the suit.

Jenni “J-Woww” Farley faced an irate ex-boyfriend when Thomas Lippolis (Yes, the infamous “Tom” to all Shore fans) sued her for failing to pay up. Lippolis claims that he helped launch J-Woww’s career by creating her image. While his level of involvement is still up for debate, their relationship seems to have provided a good amount of “Don’ts” for her dating book, The Rules According to JWoww.

Even Shore alum Angelina Pivarnick suffers legal woes, after being slapped with a suit from a December 2010 fight in Atlantic City. The brawl was so intense, that Pivarnick was escorted out of the Trump Taj Mahal at the time.
