Idina Menzel has had a whirlwind 24 hours.
After the Frozen showstopper “Let It Go” won the Academy Award for original song Sunday, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots recruited Menzel for the latest performance, aided by classroom instruments, on Monday’s Tonight Show.

Who knew wooden letter blocks, a xylophone, a triangle and other items commonly found in a kindergarten classroom — not to mention an electric mini-keyboard — could bring the Frozen ballad to life?
In a recent “Ask The Roots” video, Tariq (aka Black Thought) revealed that they figure out the arrangement “in an instant.” “That’s what keeps it fresh,” he says. Interestingly, where people are placed in the shot usually dictates what kinds of instruments they will play for that particular performance.
