Returning from hiatus on Monday evening, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon parodied the Netflix film Bird Box in its cold open segment. Host Fallon was aided by guests Lindsay Lohan, Roots members Questlove and Black Thought, and Tonight Show announcer Steve Higgins.
“I’m only going to say this once: We’re going on the trip now, it’s going to be hard, but you have to do everything I say,” Fallon instructs Higgins, Questlove and Black Thought, just as Sandra Bullock’s character does in the opening of the Netflix film. “And here’s the most important thing,” he continues. “Under no circumstance are you allowed to take off your blindfold. If you look at what’s out there, we will not make it. We cannot look.”
Following his speech, the four put on their blindfolds to traverse the halls of NBC, following the wall for guidance and structural support.
Ominous music plays as the group arrives at a room with no windows, a signal that they can safely remove their blindfolds. Suddenly a dancing Lohan — who stopped by the Tonight Show to promote her new MTV reality series, Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club — appears, and she is revealed as the “thing” they are not supposed to look at.
“Try not to look! It’s worse than I thought!” they shout, covering their eyes.
Eventually, Fallon and his cohorts join her in a choreographed routine. Questlove lingers on the outside, however.
“I’m going to put my blindfold back on,” he announces, exiting the room.

Lindsay Lohan’s Beach Club premieres on MTV Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET.
