The single-camera comedy revolves around a wife and mother who learns she was adopted and that her birth parents are a flamboyant but loving family of drag racers. Lynch will play the patriarch of Team Wheeler, a man whose life revolves around his profession and his extended family.
O’Shannon, Butler and Hope will pen the script and executive produce alongside Todd Holland, with the latter set to direct the pilot. The comedy is a co-production between CBS Television Studios and ABC Studios in association with Dark Toy Entertainment.
Lynch’s credits also include episodes of dramas Manhattan, The Americans, Do No Harm and Body of Proof in addition to comedy House of Lies. He is repped by Suskin Management and Schreck Rose.
Teegarden, meanwhile, will take on the role of Ella in the ABC drama Notorious. From The Mob Doctor’s Josh Berman, Notorious is inspired by the true-life stories of famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and cable news producer Wendy Walker. It is described as a provocative look at the unique, sexy and dangerous interplay of criminal law and the media. Teegarden’s Ella is an associate at the firm who is loyal to Jake, the nation’s top D.A., whom she met while he was defending her father on criminal charges.
Berman and Allie Hagan are penning the script for Sony Pictures Television and ABC Studios. Teegarden’s credits include The CW’s Star-Crossed. She is repped by Innovative, Principato-Young and Myman Greenspan.
