After nearly 15 years, NBC is staging a Roseanne reunion.
John Goodman will co-star in Downwardly Mobile, the NBC comedy pilot starring Roseanne Barr as the outspoken proprietor and den mother to an array of characters at a mobile home park.
Goodman, who played Roseanne’s loyal husband Dan Conner for nine seasons on the ABC comedy from 1988-1997, will play one of the guys who work at the park.
Barr is writing and executive producing the multicamera pilot, from 20th Television, alongside Eric Gilliland, a former writer and executive producer on Roseanne. John Argent, Barr’s boyfriend who appeared on her Lifetime unscripted series, will also exec produce.
Roseanne was a ratings performer for the network, ranking as the most-watched show in the U.S. from 1989-1990 and landing in the top 20 for eight of its nine seasons, according to Nielsen.
The casting becomes the second this development season to feature famed cast reunions, with ABC’s off-cycle comedy The Manzanis reuniting Cheers alums Kirstie Alley and Rhea Pearlman.
Goodman, whose recent credits include the Academy Award-nominated feature The Artist, most recently recurred on Damages and Treme. He’s repped by Gersh, Stan Rosenfeld & Associates and Frankfurt Kurnit.
