ABC has snagged an hourlong White House drama project from Jon Favreau, Roberto Orci, Seth Green and Michael Dougherty.
The network has made a put pilot commitment for Secret Cabinet, a procedural that follows a newly-elected president and his “secret Cabinet,” the government’s covert team of America’s most elite minds who investigate and protect the nation from strange occurrences and “conspiracy theory truths.”
Favreau, who will write, will also direct. Orci, Green and Dougherty will also write, along with executive producing.
The project marks a reunion of sorts for Favreau and Orci, who teamed up on the big-screen adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens earlier this summer. Orci’s writing and producing partner, Alex Kurtzman, will serve as an executive producer on the project along with Heather Kadin (Fox pilot Exit Strategy) and Matt Senreich (Robot Chicken).
Dougherty previously penned Superman Returns and X2, while Green created Adult Swim’s Robot Chicken.
Secret Cabinet hails from K/O Paper Products and 20th TV.
