Jon Hamm is coming to Greenpoint.
The Mad Men star will reunite with Bridesmaids costars Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph for a guest role on Fox animated sitcom Bless the Harts, now in its second season. Hamm will voice Mayor Webb, the North Carolina city’s old-school stoner mayor who does his best to keep the small town going on a tight budget, with a proclivity for staging public explosions of old buildings.
The character will make his first appearance on Oct. 18’s Halloween-themed episode “Dead Mall,” where the Hart family visits Greenpoint’s abandoned shopping center and are taken hostage by a mall rat named Stacey (voiced by fellow guest star Kristen Schaal).
Bless the Harts, created by Emily Spivey, follows a working class Southern family voiced by Wiig, Rudolph, Jillian Bell and Ike Barinholtz. Season one also featured characters from Kumail Nanjiani (who returns for season two), Holly Hunter and Jorma Taccone. The 20th Television comedy, exec produced by Spivey, Wiig, Phil Lord, Chris Miller, Seth Cohen and Andy Bobrow, returned for its sophomore season on Sept. 27 after being Fox’s first rookie show of last fall to earn a spot on the 2020-21 calendar.
Hamm, fresh off of big-screen roles in Richard Jewell and Lucy in the Sky, will next star in Top Gun: Maverick and in a reboot of Chevy Chase’s 1980s comedy thriller Fletch.
Bless the Harts airs Sundays at 8:30 p.m. on Fox.
