HBO is picking up programming from Fusion.
The premium cable network has licensed two projects from the millennial-skewing multi-platform media company: a ten-episode, half-hour series, Outpost, and an hour-long special, Hate in America With Jorge Ramos.
Outpost takes viewers on an immersive exploration of Latin America, offering authentic local perspectives on environment, sports and culture. Meanwhile, Hate in America follows journalist Jorge Ramos as he examines the state of hate in America — from white separatists to anti-immigrant activists — investigating why hatred seems to be growing and who is feeding it. It marks Ramos’ first program in English. He previously co-anchored the newscast Noticiero Univision (Univision News) since 1986, and he hosts Al Punto (To the Point) and Univision’s Sunday public affairs program.

Both programs are developed and produced by Univision’s newly launched Univision Story House, an original content development and production team that creates programs for Univision’s internal platforms, including Fusion.
“This generation has an insatiable curiosity about the world around them, and we are thrilled to be partnering with HBO as we take viewers on a journey to examine an array of diverse cultures and perspectives,” said Isaac Lee, CEO of Fusion and chief news and digital officer for Univision. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Fusion to extend its commitment to serving a multicultural millennial audience across a broad range of platforms — and it also speaks to the high-quality, meaningful storytelling that our Story House team is dedicated to producing.”
A joint venture between ABC News and Univision, Fusion was founded in October 2013 as a home for news, lifestyle, pop culture and entertainment content for younger generations, with a focus specifically on English-speaking Latinos. The cable network and website airs The Chris Gethard Show and Paul F. Tompkins’ No, You Shut Up, among other series.
