Judy Reyes has found her next small-screen role.
Fresh off Lifetime’s Devious Maids, the actress has booked a series-regular role in TNT’s nail salon hourlong dramedy pilot Claws, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Set at a South Florida nail salon, Claws is described as a midnight-dark, wickedly funny meditation on female badness that follows the rise of five diverse and treacherous Floridian manicurists. The potential series will reveal there’s more going on at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon than silk wraps and pedicures.
Reyes will play Quiet Ann, Desna’s (Niecy Nash) driver, who also provides security at the nail salon when necessary. In addition to Nash, Reyes joins a cast that includes Carrie Preston and Karrueche Tran.

The pilot hails from executive producers Rashida Jones and Will McCormack, whose banner Le Train Train will produce the project with Warner Horizon and Turner’s Studio T. Janine Sherman Barrois (ER, Criminal Minds) is on board as executive producer and showrunner should the pilot be picked up to series. Co-executive producer Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me) wrote the pilot, which will be directed by Nicole Kassell (The Americans).
Reyes comes to Claws after Lifetime recently canceled Devious Maids following a four-season run. She also has recently recurred on Jane the Virgin, and will next appear in Netflix’s One Day at a Time remake. Reyes, whose other credits include Scrubs, is repped by TalentWorks, ATA Management and Franklin, Weinrib.
