Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall have inked a two-year overall deal with CBS Television Studios.
As part of the pact, they will be tasked through their Kennedy/Marshall Co. with developing projects for the studio. Given their stature, the pair, along with former longtime CBS executive Robert Zotnowski, have a pilot commitment by the studio.
“We’re eager to expand our opportunities in television, and we look forward to working with Les Moonves, Nina Tassler, David Stapf and everyone at CBS,” Kennedy said.
The multiple-Oscar-nominated producing team, whose recent credits include War Horse and The Adventures of Tintin, segued into television with HBO’s The Special Relationship (2010) and has Wikileaks with Charles Ferguson and Rowan Joffe as well as Legacy of Ashes, with David Simon and Ed Burns, both currently in development at the premium cabler.
For his part, Zotnowski most recently was head of television development with Stars Road Entertainment since 2009.
“Kathleen and Frank are truly gifted filmmakers with a résumé that reads like a gold standard of box-office success and award-winning and culturally relevant projects,” CBS Entertainment president Tassler said. “We are excited to develop with them and reunite with Robert Zotnowski, one of our favorite CBS alumni.”
Kennedy’s producing credits include The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and Ponyo; Marshall’s work includes the Bourne films.
The Kennedy/Marshall Co. is repped by CAA and Alan Hergott.
