Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin have teamed up for the ninth straight year to co-host CNN‘s New Year’s Eve coverage, and once again, Cooper cannot control his giggles.
Kicking off the broadcast from a bed in their hotel room, Cooper tries to introduce the night’s show with little success, since his co-host has other topics she’d like to discuss, namely Caitlyn Jenner.
“How far has your sexual relationship with Caitlyn Jenner gone?” Griffin asks Cooper, who tries to keep his composure. She continues to press him with inappropriate questions and comments — such as “Would you kiss Caitlyn Jenner open mouth?” and “His barn door’s been open a little too much lately” — and succeeds in breaking the CNN host a mere three minutes into the show.
“This is how it’s gonna start?” asks Cooper.
Griffin next takes aim at Ryan Seacrest — who hosts the competing NYE telecast on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin‘ Eve With Ryan Seacrest 2016 — saying, “I had sex with Ryan Seacrest last night. Ryan is sore. He’s sore.”
“He’s angry right? That’s what you mean by sore,” says Cooper in an attempt to keep things PG-rated.
Later in the broadcast, Griffin walks the Times Square streets in only a bra while hand-in-hand with an embarrassed Cooper. “Oh my goodness,” says Cooper. “There’s children here.” She then causes him to cover his eyes and shake his head when she airs a pre-taped clip of her completing the ice bucket challenge — naked.

The live telecast began at 8 p.m. ET and continues through the ball drop and until 12:30 a.m.
The pair are joined around the globe by CNN correspondents Poppy Harlow (Times Square), Brooke Baldwin and Don Lemon (New Orleans), Randi Kaye (Memphis) and Richard Quest (Rio de Janeiro). Prior to the broadcast, the Tom Foreman-hosted “All the Best, All the Worst 2015” special featured highlights from some of the best and worst moments of 2015.
