That was quick. A few days after publicly threatening to quit her longtime gig as a panelist on E!’s Fashion Police, Kelly Osbourne has officially departed her red-carpet role at the network.
“Kelly Osbourne is departing E!’s Fashion Police to pursue other opportunities, and we would like to thank her for her many contributions to the series over the past five years, during which time the show became a hit with viewers,” read a network statement. “Fashion Police will return as scheduled on Monday, March 30, at 9 p.m., and no decisions have been made on her replacement.”

Osbourne’s issues, at least according to her venting on Twitter, pertain to colleague Giuliana Rancic‘s maligned assessment of Zendaya Coleman‘s Oscars look. Rancic said the actress-singer looked like she smelled of “patchouli or weed” when she debuted her new dreadlocks. Coleman called Rancic out on social media, and Rancic quickly made an on-air apology.
It has been a strange year at Fashion Police. The sudden September death of grande dame Joan Rivers prompted a months-long hiatus for the series. It returned with a rejiggered panel — Kathy Griffin and Brad Goreski joined — after the Golden Globes but has not been as big a draw as it was in the past. The comeback episode didn’t even crack 1 million viewers.
