Before Kelsey Grammer asked for a divorce from Camille, he says he gave her a little something: a role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I have to tell you, the Real Housewives was my parting gift to her,” Grammer said on CNN’s Piers Morgan Tonight Monday. “It was my way of saying, ‘Look, you always wanted to be famous. Here you go.'”

Grammer says she knew their 13-year marriage was ending before she agreed to star on the Bravo reality show.
“I remember having one conversation where I said, ‘Well, don’t worry about it. After the first season, you can do the Divorced Wives of Beverly Hills next season,'” he told Morgan.

He also says of Camille: “I think she married me because I was Frasier,” referring to his role as Dr. Frasier Crane on Cheers and Frasier.
“Camille asked for a divorce really almost the first day we were married,” Grammer added. “If you say you want a divorce enough times, you’re going to get one.”

“I think what I was trying to do was sell it to myself,” he said of their relationship. “There was this … small voice in the back of my head saying, ‘This isn’t going to work.’ But I stuck to it.”
He says they now have “no contact” but he has a “great” relationship with their kids, Mason, 9, and Jude, 7.
Grammer says the first time he met current wife Kayte White “it was insane… it was like all the planets had danced together into a segregated charm on our behalf.”
