Kevin Hart had quite the Golden Globes story for Ellen DeGeneres when he stopped by her show on Tuesday.
“Lady Gaga. She got an award. And what people don’t know [is that] after she got the award [and] she was walking off, she fell,” said Hart. “I, like, had to catch her.”
He continued, “While I caught her I said, ‘I just want you to realize how big my arms are. They’re just — it could have been bad. It could have been really bad for you, but I saved your life.’ “
DeGeneres asked how far Gaga fell, and Hart said luckily it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.
“I didn’t let her go down that far because I’m a hero,” said Hart. “The thing is, like, she was on her way down. It could have been brutal. You know, we’re talking blood, broken bones.”
The actor-comedian said his “inner hero” grabbed her, and his “instincts kicked in.”
“I immediately cleared the camera. ‘Move!’ ” he said, gesturing. Hart joked that Gaga was “gasping for air,” and they had “a moment.”
“It was, like, a thing, and I was like, ‘I’m engaged,’ ” said Hart with a smile. “True story. That happened.”
