Khloe Kardashian explained, in a Thursday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, how she dealt with the “incredibly scary” experience of being “really really sick” with COVID-19 in the early days of the pandemic.
The reality TV star said she tested positive for the novel coronavirus in March, a diagnosis that was first revealed in a Wednesday sneak peek clip from Keeping Up With the Kardashians, after an earlier teaser showed her being tested.
In the clip, Kardashian talks to the camera from bed explaining how she had been “vomiting and shaking and hot and then cold.”
“I suffer from migraines but this was the craziest headache; I wouldn’t say it was a migraine,” she said. “The cough in my chest would burn when I would cough.”
She added, “Let me tell you that shit is real but we’re all going to get through this. Pray that if we all follow orders and listen, we’re going to be OK. May God bless us all.”
Kardashian told DeGeneres that the experience was “super scary” as “the whole world was shutting down and we didn’t have really any information or the information we had just changed every single day.”
Kardashian explained that she put on a mask and gloves, just amid speculation about the disease, as she felt that she was coming down with something. Despite her family not thinking she had the disease, she continued to be “really diligent” about wearing masks, she says, as her family was tested. Her results came back positive but everyone else tested negative, she said.
As she recovered from the disease, Kardashian said she was quarantined in her room for roughly 16 days as she was waiting for a negative test result.
But the “hardest part,” for her, was being away from her daughter.
“I don’t care how beautiful the place you have, being taken away from your child for that long, because I couldn’t be around my daughter, that was the most, like, heart-wrenching thing,” she said.
