The backlash against the Kardashian suite of reality shows may have picked up a lot of steam over the past few weeks, but sorry Kardashian critics, reports that the increasing controversy helped to kill a proposed Christmas special aren’t true according to the network.

An E! spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter that the news is “completely false.” In fact, it’s impossible to put the kibosh on something that apparently never existed as the spokesperson adds, “This special was never on the schedule.”
On Friday, the New York Post’s reported that its sources say that the family was in talks with the entertainment cable channel for a televised special with the reality clan ringing in the holidays with its viewers.

According to the newspaper, plans for the special fell apart because the family members had “too many commitments,” which made it hard to schedule the program’s shooting. Though, the fallout from Kim Kardashian’s quickie divorce from Kris Humphries was supposedly the nail in the coffin.
A Kardashian rep had also told the newspaper, “I haven’t heard anything about [it].”
A special such as this would probably net plenty of viewers amid all the divorce controversy. The two part Kardashian/Humphries wedding special attracted more than eight million viewers over its two nights.
