Game of Thrones may be awash in grizzly, barbaric death almost every episode, but its star Kit Harington — otherwise known as Jon Snow — doesn’t think it’s a problem.
Speaking to the Radio Times, the British actor said that the manner in which it’s portrayed onscreen makes it acceptable.
“I don’t see a problem with it because you mostly always feel the consequences of that person dying,” he said. “In Thrones it’s war, and awful, awful things happen, as we see on the news daily. And if we’ve got an appetite for watching these things on the news, then you can’t shy away from it on cable drama.”

The 27-year-old, who has just finished shooting the fifth season of the hit HBO show, added that in showing the impact of the numerous deaths, it isn’t gratuitous.
“In Thrones, as much as they bury the dead they see very quickly there is an impact that those deaths have, which I’m constantly playing. People are always dying around me in Thrones.”
