Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries’ marriage continues to crumble on-screen as Kourtney and Kim Take New York careens to its season finale next week.

E! promised Sunday’s episode would be the biggest development yet in the star’s ill-fated marriage. Until now, it had received two big blows. There was Kim’s confession in Dubai that she didn’t miss her new husband and then last episode’s admission that she wasn’t happy.
On what’s being called Part 1 of the finale, Kris invited his sister plus-size model Kaela Humphries to New York City and didn’t tell Kim. That made things awkward for her as she already was experiencing some distance from him and the last thing she wanted was for his sister to pick up on that. Kim, who tends to avoid conflict as a coping mechanism, claimed she couldn’t get out of work that week to hang out with them.

Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend, Scott Disick, ended up telling Kaela very directly that Kris didn’t tell Kim she was coming and so she wasn’t able to clear her work schedule for her. Kaela, who seems to take clues way better than her brother, decided to cut her trip short. Kris was annoyed that Kim didn’t make time for his sister, but the funny part is that’s not the cause of the biggest fight between the couple on the episode.
As the anniversary of the death of her father, Robert Kardashian, drew near, Kim was looking to find answers. Her publicist also represents celebrity medium John Edward and was able to set up a reading for Kim. While both Kris and Kourtney initially were against it, Kourtney eventually came around. Kris, though, ended up leaving the apartment after what Kim described as a heated argument about the medium that took place offscreen.

Kim and Kourtney went ahead with the reading. And after what seemed like some dead-on (excuse the pun) readings by John, he mentioned her first divorce and asked whether she learned anything from it. That struck a chord with Kim and led to her making some serious conclusions.
“What was so crazy about that,” Kim tearfully tells Kourtney. “When he was talking about the divorce stuff, that’s why I started to cry. I honestly feel like I can’t do this anymore with Kris. I feel like I got into this way too fast. I don’t want to be married anymore.”
