Last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Kristen Wiig revealed that she’s been doing some voiceover work in addition to filming Ghostbusters — but not the kind anyone would have expected.
With Fred Armisen helping out, Wiig demonstrated her new work on the show, dubbing over one of Meyers’ opening monologues, an interview with Helen Mirren as well as one with Shaquille O’Neal.
Part of her work, Wiig says, is to dub over American shows when they go overseas: for example, “Australian.”
“Wait, I’m a little confused,” said Meyers after viewing one of the clips. “The show’s already in English. And also why would you change the words?”
“Because … it’s a different sensibility [overseas],” Wiig explained, stifling a laugh. “A different sense of humor… Fred knows what I’m talking about.”
