AP Images/InvisionThe Los Angeles County District Attorney on Wednesday declined to file criminal charges against Bill Cosby.
The actor and comedian was accused of sexual assault by two unidentified victims.
One accuser claimed Cosby forced her to have sexual intercourse with him in 1965 when she was 17-years-old. Due to the statute of limitations, the district attorney’s office declined to prosecute Cosby, according to documents from the DA’s office.
The second accuser told authorities that in 2008, while she was 18, Cosby sexually assaulted her during a party at the Playboy Mansion. The DA’s office determined there was insufficient evidence to move forward with a case, according to documents.
Cosby’s attorney, Monique Pressley, posted a statement on the decision Wednesday night.
“We are satisfied that the Los Angeles DA’s Office fully and fairy evaluated all the facts and evidence, and came to the right conclusion in declining to file charges against Mr. Cosby,” the statement reads.
Cosby is currently out on $1 million bail after he was arraigned in Pennsylvania last month on sexual assault charges.
