Saved by the Bell star Lark Voorhies raised eyebrows earlier this year after her appearance in a Yahoo video had some questioning whether she was on drugs or had plastic surgery.
The actress denied the accusations at the time, but now she is generating headlines again after her mother claimed that Voorhies was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

“There are things that have traumatized her,” her mom, Tricia, told People. “I care deeply about my daughter and I want her to resume her life.”
Tricia talked to People on the heels of several interviews her daughter gave to the magazine, during which Voorhies, 38, would frequently “stop mid-sentence and stare off, often mumbling to herself or to others who weren’t there,” according to People.
For her part, Voorhies denies that anything is wrong, calling her mom “overloving” and saying she worries too much.
When pressed by People about her “vacant stares and rambling moments,” the actress said: “I have a strong spiritual sense. You caught me in moments of pray [sic].”

Voorhies played Lisa Turtle in Saved by the Bell, which aired on NBC from 1989-93, as well as in two spinoff series and a TV movie. After that ended, she appeared in such shows as The Bold and the Beautiful and In the House.
While Voorhies has kept a low in recent years — save for the Yahoo video — she said she now works in low-budget indies as well as records music and self-publishes books.
