Last Resort is adding an ex-Navy SEAL to the mix.
Californication actor Jason Beghe has booked a guest starring gig on ABC’s submarine drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
From Shawn Ryan and Karl Gajdusek, Last Resort follows a crew led by Captain Marcus Chaplin (Andre Braugher) that finds refuge on the island of Sainte Marina after disobeying orders from the U.S. government.
Beghe, currently filming an arc on NBC’s Chicago Fire, will play Wes Porter, an old mentor to Navy SEAL James King (Daniel Lissing). Wes is a former SEAL who saw a lot of action back in the day but has retired in order to live a humble life with his Filipino wife and child in the poorer part of Manila. He will appear in the ninth episode, airing Dec 13.
Repped by APA, Beghe’s most recent credits include Body of Proof, Castle and NCIS, in addition to Californication, where he recurs as Richard Bates, a novelist friend of Hank Moody (David Duchovny). On the big screen, Beghe appeared in Atlas Shrugged II: The Strike.
ABC recently issued an order for additional scripts of Last Resort.
