On Tuesday, Leah Remini continued her media tour to promote her new memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology.
The King of Queens alum stopped by The View, where she recalled her experiences with the church and why she ultimately decided to leave.
Remini also shared her advice for other Scientologists who may have the same questions and concerns that ultimately led her to leave the church.
“I would say, ‘You’re not wrong. You’re probably right in what you witnessed. Don’t question yourself, and just take the step,’ ” said the actress.
She went on to add that despite the backlash she received from Scientology for speaking out publicly against the church, Remini wouldn’t advise others who have left to stay silent.
When View co-host Joy Behar offered, “It’s a lot easier if you do [stay silent],” Remini responded, “OK, then you stand for nothing. I mean, to me.”
Remini’s book, which was released Tuesday, chronicles her three decades as a Scientologist and features juicy details about her interactions with Tom Cruise and his then-wife, Katie Holmes, many of which already have leaked online, and the troubling events that ultimately led her to leave the church.
The book is already a top-seller on Amazon and Barnes & Noble’s website.
