TLC is turning its lens on Leah Remini.
The cable network has picked up 12 episodes of a half-hour docuseries following the former King of Queens actress and ex-Scientologist.
The series will follow Remini’s life and showcase how the girl from Brooklyn, who is living in L.A., never left her roots behind. Her husband of 10 years, Angelo — a devoted father who helps run their family diner, and their 9-year-old daughter, Sofia, will also be featured in the series. Filling out Remini’s household are her opinionated mother and eccentric stepfather, as well as her sister and brother-in-law, who have a secret coded language that drives Leah insane. Making Leah’s life even more complicated — but also a lot more fun — is her team, including her wisecracking housekeeper, Sofia’s brash British nanny and Leah’s personal assistant, who really wants to act.

The series hails from Duck Dynasty producers Gurney Productions, with production already underway for a summer debut on TLC. For its part, Gurney also produces series including Porter Ridge, Prenup to Murder and Hollywood Treasure, among others.
“Leah is a no-nonsense, hard-working, relatable mom, wife, daughter and sister. Her sharp humor and unfiltered family are a perfect match for the network,” TLC GM Nancy Daniels said in a statement announcing the news on Wednesday. “This series continues our focus on creating compelling series about remarkable families, using heart and humor to anchor it to the TLC brand.”
Remini has been vocal about her split from the Church of Scientology and recently competed on the 17th season of Dancing With the Stars. She has also co-hosted The Talk and appeared on TV Land’s The Exes.
Remini is repped by APA and attorney Michael Gendler.
