A west Los Angeles home belonging to NBA star LeBron James was vandalized with racist language, authorities confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter.
The call for the incident came in early Wednesday morning, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman said.
It is unclear what exactly was written, but police said it was racist in nature.
No other information was released. The investigation is ongoing.
James’ Cleveland Cavaliers are readying to take on the Golden State Warriors for a third NBA finals rematch, which beings Thursday night.
James responded to the vandalizing while talking to reporters later in the day on Wednesday.
“Being black in America, it’s tough,” James said in a lengthy response. “And we have a long way to go as a society and for African Americans until we feel equal.”
James is no stranger to Hollywood, having appeared in movies and TV shows. He is one of the most recognizable athletes in the world.
