For all the promotion surrounding Lifetime’s Five, featuring five short films directed by A-list talent like Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore, the ratings didn’t exactly measure up.
In its premiere telecast on Monday, the two-hour telepic — focusing on stories of women affected by breast cancer — averaged just 1.3 million total viewers. Compared to Hayden Panettiere‘s Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy, which aired in February and drew 2.8 million to its premiere, that number is less than half. For a more recent comparison, the Oct. 2 telepic The Hunt for the I-5 Killer drew about 2.15 million viewers.
In addition to Aniston and Moore, shorts were directed by Alicia Keys, Penelope Spheeris and Patty Jenkins. Jeanne Tripplehorn leads an ensemble cast.
Lifetime is re-airing Five on Saturday, Oct. 15 and Sunday, Oct. 16.
