Chris Selak is staying put at Lionsgate in what the company is calling a new long-term agreement.
The TV executive, who has been with the studio since 2011, sees her role expanded with this new contract, adding international efforts to her purview.
“Chris has been an integral part of our success over the past six years, and she will be one of the key executives moving our business forward in the years to come,” Lionsgate TV Group chairman Kevin Beggs said Thursday in a statement. “[Lionsgate Television Group president] Sandra Stern and I couldn’t ask for a better executive partner. Chris’s superb talent relationships, savvy creative instincts and outstanding leadership skills will be an important driver of the continued rapid growth and diversification of our global television operations.”
Her new title, executive vp worldwide television, will have her working with the newly launched Lionsgate UK television business as part of a growing strategy to increase its U.S.-U.K. co-productions. Selak’s team also will be charged with supplying new scripted projects to Starz, which was acquired by Lionsgate in December.
Selak’s roster of Lionsgate series is substantial. The studio, which says its scripted programming revenue has more than tripled in the last six years, produces Orange Is the New Black, Nashville, Casual, Graves, Greenleaf and the upcoming Netflix offering Dear White People.
