Lost scribe Brian K. Vaughan has found his next TV gig.
The well-known comic book writer (Y: The Last Man) has been tapped to adapt Stephen King‘s 2009 novel Under the Dome, which is in development at Showtime.
The premium cable network announced plans to develop a potential drama series based on the book about locals at a Maine locale who battle one another when a force field surrounds their town and cuts them off from the remainder of the world.
King will executive produce the project along with DreamWorks TV’s Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank.
In addition to serving as a writer, co-producer and executive story editor on ABC’s Lost, Vaughan is an Eisner Award winner for best comic series for Y: The Last Man, Runaways, Ex Machina and Marvel’s Ultimate X-Men.
His work on Seasons 4 and 5 of Lost earned a 2009 Writers Guid of America Award for best dramatic series.
He’s repped by Verve.
