Lou Taylor Pucci and Ashton Holmes are getting Reckless.
The actors have joined the cast of the ABC drama pilot from executive producer Martin Campbell, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Campbell will direct.
From ABC Studios, Reckless follows staid engineer David Ritter, whose wife, Sarah, goes missing during a military coup in East Myanmar. He casts off his generally careful demeanor and risks everything to get her back, including embezzling money from his powerful father-in-law’s company to hire a mercenary.
Pucci, whose credits include the films Beginners and Carriers, will play Ryan Harrison, a twentysomething family screw-up. He once stole $90,000 from his father’s manufacturing business and blew it on Internet poker. Although he’s a good guy, Ryan is slightly under-motivated.
Holmes, who appeared on Nikita and Revenge, will play Wyatt Bickford, described as confident (bordering on arrogant), charming and entitled. He is an acquaintance of David’s from college who doesn’t remember him but is willing to meet with him nonetheless. Wyatt’s firm represents a private security contractor, though he repeatedly stresses that they are a last-resort option.
They join a cast that includes Ernie Hudson and Eloise Mumford. Chris Black will write and executive produce, along with Campbell and David Rapaport.
Pucci, repped by UTA, next appears in Evil Dead. Holmes is repped by APA and Intellectual Artists Management.
