Louis C.K. and Albert Brooks are expanding their professional relationship.
The duo is co-creating, co-writing and providing the two lead voices for an untitled animated pilot for FX, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
While details about the half-hour animated project are being kept under wraps, C.K. and Brooks will voice two of the lead roles and executive produce. The entry marks comedy veteran Brooks’ first television credit following feature work including his Oscar-nominated role in Broadcast News and voice gig in Finding Nemo, among others.

The pilot hails from FX Productions and studio-based C.K.’s Pig Newton banner. The deal marks the latest collaboration for the Louie star. FX will bow Zach Galifianakis starrer Baskets — produced by C.K. — this month and also has Pamela Adlon entry Better Things awaiting a premiere date. Louie, meanwhile, is on its second hiatus and a launch for season six has yet to be determined. (C.K. is also exec producing Amazon’s Tig Notaro comedy series.)
The FX animated comedy marks the latest collaboration for C.K. and Brooks, who have voice roles in Universal/Illumination’s The Secret Life of Pets. The feature opens in July.
C.K., repped by 3 Arts and attorney David Weber, currently stars in the Golden Globe nominated Trumbo. Brooks, who stars in Concussion opposite Will Smith, is with WME and manager Herb Nanas. He’s set to reprise his voice role in Finding Dory, due in June.
The C.K./Brooks pilot comes as the cabler has found success with animated comedy Archer. FX next is teaming with Archer producers for animated comedy series Cassius & Clay, with a premiere date yet to be announced. On the pilot side, FX is prepping animated comedy Bigfoot from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
