After disappearing from the airwaves for exactly 525 days, Mad Men looks likely to return to AMC on Mar. 25.
Series star Jon Hamm appeared on Friday’s installment of podcast Doug Loves Movies with Doug Benson, where he dropped the date and declined to give away any other information.
Season 5 of Mad Men had previously been sidelined, keeping it off the air for all of 2011, by stalled contract negotiations between creator and showrunner Matt Weiner, AMC and Lionsgate. The ensuing deal resulted in a two-season pick-up, with Weiner on board for a potential seventh and final season.
AMC could not confirm an official return date for the Emmy-winning drama, but a Mar. 2012 return has been discussed since last year’s renewal.
Production on Season 5 began shooting in Los Angeles last July. The premiere episode marks the first directorial effort from Hamm.
