Jon Hamm has inked a three-year deal to remain on AMC’s Emmy-drama Mad Men.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Hamm’s deal with Lionsgate TV will see the actor continue on with the critically praised drama through the end of the series’ run.
After prolonged negotiations, Mad Men creator/executive producer Matthew Weiner signed a two-year contract with AMC and Lionsgate TV, with an option for a third, in March. The negotiations pushed back the Season 5 premiere of Mad Men to March 2012, nearly a year and a half since Season 4 ended.
Hamm’s deal almost guarantees that Lionsgate TV and AMC pick up the option on Weiner’s contract to continue the drama into a seventh season.
Hamm, repped by ICM and Forward Entertainment, is a three-time Emmy nominee for his role as Don Draper. Mad Men is the first basic-cable series to win the Emmy for best drama series, winning in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
Mad Men is currently in preproduction for Season 5.
