Adam Rodriguez is bringing his quick feet to Empire.
The Magic Mike star has joined the Fox music drama in a recurring role, Fox announced Tuesday.
Rodriguez will play Laz Delgado, a smooth-talking concert promoter with expert hustler skills. A native New Yorker and former EMT, Laz takes an interest in Cookie (Taraji P. Henson).
At an academy event Friday for the breakout smash, Henson told THR that Cookie will have multiple love interests this season.
Rodriguez joins previously announced guest-stars Chris Rock, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Ne-Yo, the latter of whom also is contributing original music to the show’s expanded second season.
Best known for his role on the long-running CSI: Miami, Rodriguez’s credits also include Ugly Betty and The Night Shift. He will be seen next in Magic Mike XXL.
Rodriguez is repped by UTA and A Management.
The new season of Empire premieres on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m. on Fox.
