Maksim Chmerkovskiy has never been one to bite his tongue.
And while the Dancing With the Stars pro has remained relatively calm through the judges’ tepid reception of current partner Hope Solo, he seems to have had enough. He went off on judge Len Goodman during Monday’s critique.
After Goodman labeled Solo’s Rumba as her worst performance of the season, Chmerkovskiy interjected, saying that not all competitors were judged on the same criteria and that they were all putting the same effort into it.

A lot of yelling and talking over each other ensued, while Solo seemed to shrink into her partner’s shoulder.
Speaking with host Brooke Burke Charvet in the DWTS sky box, he seemed to dig himself into an even deeper hole.
“With all due respect, this is my show,” he said. “I helped make it what it is.”
Not to completely take the spotlight away from his fellow pros, Chmerkovskiy added that they all had done their part.

This marks his 11th season on the ABC series. He first appeared in Season 2, partnered with Tia Carrere, and has only missed Season 6 since then. He’s twice a runner-up — once with Spice Girl Melanie B and again last season with Kirstie Alley.
Maks previously got headlines for a heated exchange with judge Carrie Ann Inaba in Season 10 when she disagreed with his choice of choreography for partner Brandy.
