Marcus Mucha has been promoted vp business development at Revelations Entertainment, Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary’s production company.
Mucha most recently was director of business development, helping structure the financing for the film Life Itself (on which he is an associate producer), raised capital for the digital startups Revelations incubates through its DigiRev arm and helped strategize Revelations’ move into scripted television.
In his new role, Mucha will be responsible for identifying and pursuing opportunities for growth at the enterprise level as well as for helping create company strategy and overseeing day-to-day business operations.
Marcus’s vision and ability to see the big picture have been key in our expansion over the last two years,” Freeman and McCreary said in a joint statement.
Added Mucha: “Every day I’m proud to go out and get people excited about the amazing, memorable projects Morgan, Lori and the rest of the team are producing.”
Before joining Revelations, Mucha was an agent trainee at ICM, where he worked for agents including Bob Broder, Doug MacLaren and Kevin Crotty.
Prior to moving to L.A., Mucha was the manager of business development at the Mucha Foundation in London and Prague, which is dedicated to preserving the artistic legacy of his great-grandfather, the celebrated Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist Alphonse Mucha.
Among Revelations’ series are Science Channel’s Through the Wormhole With Morgan Freeman and the drama pilot Madam Secretary, which CBS greenlighted last month. Its films include Invictus and the upcoming comedy Life Itself, in which Freeman stars opposite Diane Keaton.
