Matthew Perry shared a story that he said he’s “not proud of” on Wednesday’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Perry went to grade school with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
“My friend Chris Murray, who was also in the fifth grade in Canada, reminded me we actually beat up Justin Trudeau,” said Perry.
“I think he was excelling at a sport that we weren’t as good at,” said Perry, giving the reason he thinks they both beat up Trudeau, who was the son of Pierre Trudeau, Canada’s prime minister at the time. “It was pure jealousy.”
“I’m not bragging about this. This was terrible,” Perry continued. “I was a stupid kid.”
Kimmel asked if there was an equivalent of Secret Service to protect the young Trudeau, but the actor said there wasn’t. He joked that maybe the fight was what made Trudeau the man he is today.
