With 17 nominations this year and two previous consecutive wins for outstanding comedy series, the cast and crew of HBO’s Veep are no strangers to Emmy night.
Stopping by the offices of The Hollywood Reporter to discuss his second nomination for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy series, star Matt Walsh explained how the evening is “a bit of a rollercoaster.”
“You’re not really totally invested until the cameraman shows up in your row and he’s filming the cast for best comedy,” said the actor. “It’s that rollercoaster for every category you’re nominated.”
On being recognized for a second time for his role as Mike McLintock, Walsh said that he’s definitely more aware of it, especially when the nominations are announced: “It sort of plants the seed and you care about it a little more.”
